Start with painting the pots with the white paint. They needed a solid two coats!

Then, write out your chalkboard labels and adhered them to the pots.

Put the labels onto the pots and lightly distress the edges for a more rustic vintage look.

Lastly, pot your herbs and place them on birch rounds for fun.

What do you need


  • White sake cups (a small bowl or teacup will work too)
  • Black ceramic marker
  • Oven
  • Cotton pads

How to make ​cress cups with a face:

  • Clean the cups very well.
  • Draw cute faces on the cups with your black ceramic marker. Bake in the oven according to the instructions on your ceramic marker.
  • Place a few layers of cotton pads in cups. Make sure it’s completely soaked in water.
  • Add cress seeds on top of the cotton pads. Place the cress cups in a light area, avoid full sunlight.
  • Water little plants regularly. 

8. Moss Topiary Tree

Do you usually forget to water your plants? No worries, the next project might be exactly what you're looking for. 

What do you need


  • Preserved Sheet Moss
  • Styrofoam Ball - about 4 inch
  • Flower Pot
  • Floral Foam
  • Hot Glue Gun and Sticks
  • Tree Branch or Painted Wood Dowel Rod
  • Ribbon (optional)

Start with a bag of preserved sheet moss and a Styrofoam ball. Thin the moss sheet as much as possible by removing the brown layer underneath. 

Use a hot glue gun on a low temp and carefully glue the moss around the ball. Work in sections then fill in any gaps with leftover moss.

Then insert the tree branch into the Styrofoam ball.

Place a piece of floral foam inside the flower pot and add the tree branch in the center. Glue around the hole to prevent the tree from leaning to make sure it was stable.

Cover the floral foam. Use leftover moss and a small amount of hot glue to keep it in place.

You can finish it off with a burlap ribbon.

Paint the pots with a rough coat of aqua-colored acrylic paint. To add a rustic vibe use a foam brush make sure that the terra cotta color is still visible in certain places. Then, tone it down a little bit and brush some white paint over the aqua layer.

Wrap some twine around the pots and tie the ends with little bows.

Add some potting soil and plant the succulents.
